Bistro Award winner, Therese Lee, presents Pennies From Heaven, My Life in Bing Crosby Songs on Thursday, August 20 at 7 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. Music director-pianist is Christopher Denny; directed by Jeff Harnar.
Using the lens of Bing Crosby—whose recording career spanned over five decades—to highlight stories from her life, Lee includes an eclectic set of songs, from Cole Porter to Joni Mitchell, and from Kurt Weill to Marvin Hamlisch. Included are standards and surprises, such as “Blue Skies,” “Swinging on a Star,” “Brother Can You Spare a Dime” and “Both Sides Now.”
Pennies From Heaven, My Life in Bing Crosby Songs is made possible with generous support from the Mabel Mercer Foundation Bill Stubing Development Fund Grant and the American Songbook Association Pomranz Performance Grant.
There is a $25.00 Cover Charge ($20 for MAC members) with a $20 two drink minimum. Cash only. Reservations can be made at donttellmamanyc.com
