Live from Harlem, the Jazz Foundation of America presents: Bernice Brooks and Friends on Thursday, August 13 at 2 PM at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem.
Drummer, producer and teaching artist Brooks is one of the most versatile female drummers locally, nationally and internationally. She honed her skills from performing with big bands, blues bands, and in jazz, rock ‘n roll, and gospel music. She has worked with tap dancers, on commercials, in theater and on many recordings. She has had her own television show, The Bernice Brooks Show on BCAT. Among the many artists she has played with are Elvis Costello, Savion Glover, Shelia E, Ann Duquesnay, Toshi Reagon, Kit McClure and many more.
