Trudy Carmichael Debuts at Don’t Tell Mama on Thursday, July 16 and Sunday, July 19

Vocalist Trudy Carmichael debuts at Don’t Tell Mama on Thursday, July 16 at 7 PM and Sunday, July 19 at 4 PM with Just Who Does She Think She Is? The show is backed by multi-MAC Award winner Tracy Stark on keys and Steve Whyte on drums, and directed by Lennie Watts.

The self-described Las Vegas lounge legend, Carmichael (the alter ego of Robin Rothman) premieres her musical tell-all, delivering a mash-up of show tunes and ’80s pop anthems, plus a Q&A with the audience to inspire an improvised number. By peeling back the curtain and offering a rare and chaotic glimpse into her larger-than-life persona, Carmichael serves up a reminder to all to celebrate their truths and never let anyone take away that inner sparkle.

Carmichael/Rothman is the first Grand Prize winner of The R.E.P. Awards, which enabled direct funding of this show. The First Annual R.E.P. Award Show Honoring Roe Piccoli was held this past November (covered in these pages), with the next R.E.P. Awards already planned for later this year.
