By Natasha Castillo***My latest photo journey captured special moments from Ethel Merman Disco Project with Carly Ozard & Friends at The Green Room 42 (June 19), starring Ozard, the non-binary entertainer and recording artist. The show was music directed by pianist Darnell White leading a lively octet of musicians.
Ozard and her friends—Ava Nicole Frances, Hope Johansen, Debbi Sacleux—rocked the house with songs from the Ethel Merman Disco Project Album. Ozard had discovered the original 1979 Merman album, The Ethel Merman Disco Album and recognized its potential for a modern electronic dance music transformation, working with White on the project.
It was a fabulous evening of great music, fun facts about Ethel Merman, great stories, and party favors to boot. Everyone had a great time. If they were able, the audience would have gotten up and danced along! If Carly brings the show back, I highly recommend it!
