Vocalist Jennifer Roberts Celebrates Sheldon Harnick’s 100th Birthday, on Tuesday, April 30, at The Green Room 42

Actress and vocalist Jennifer Roberts celebrates Sheldon Harnick’s 100th birthday with Jennifer Roberts: She Loves…Sheldon! on Tuesday, April 30 at 7 PM at The Green Room 42. Music director is Tedd Firth, with bassist Steve Doyle. Directed by Lance Roberts (no relation).

The show is based on Roberts’ decade-long correspondence with the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning lyricist and composer, Sheldon Harnick, and feature hits from his greatest and most-popular shows, including Fiddler On The Roof and She Loves Me. Roberts also promises “several hidden gems” of rarely/if ever heard songs with arrangements by Firth in varied styles: “jazz-infused, a little blues and more.” Harnick himself presented three of the songs to Roberts that were either never in print or out of print. Another friend of the composer’s provided a rarely-heard number from Harnick’s Hidden Treasures album.

Roberts, in addition to cabaret and concert appearances has regional credits including as Sarah Brown opposite Broadway leading man Tom Wopat in Guys and Dolls. Roberts is known for her heartfelt, entertaining shows that highlight her wide vocal range She has also appeared as Guenevere in Camelot, directed by Tod Booth, and in both the soprano and alto roles in several versions of All Night Strut directed by Fran Charnas. She boasts numerous radio and television commercials, as well as film and television appearances.
