Tammy McCann Premieres “An Evening with Tammy McCann” at Pangea, Starting Friday, February 8th

The Chicago-based jazz singer, Tammy McCann, premieres An Evening with Tammy McCann at Pangea beginning Friday February 8, at 7 pm, with monthly shows following through Friday, May 10. McCann celebrates the masters from Ellington to Wonder, previewing her upcoming CD recording entitled The New Standard, an ongoing musical exploration of the qualities that make American songwriting so iconic and recognizable across cultures and generations around the world and over time.  The show features Anthony Wonsey on piano, Corey Rawls on drums and Dimitri Kolesnik on bass.

McCann is the executive director of The Brownville Jazz Retreat in Brownville Nebraska and an artist-in-residence at The Music Institute of Chicago. She has performed with Ramsey Lewis; NEA Jazz Master Von Freeman; John Clayton; Charles McPherson; Orbert Davis; Dee Dee Bridgewater and has also toured with Ray Charles as a Raelette. 

An Evening with Tammy McCann performs the second Friday of every month—Fridays Feb 8, Mar 8, Apr 12, May 10, all at 7 pm.  There is a $25 music charge and a $20 food and drink minimum. To purchase tickets online visit www.pangeanyc.com or for info call 212-995-0900.
