“Piano Bar Live!” Interactive Streaming Piano Bar Experience Sunday, September 22 @ 6:30pm at The Duplex with Host Michael McAssey & Guests Rick Crom, Elaine Brier, Ruby Rims & more

ScoBar Entertainment has announced that PIANO BAR LIVE! the interactive streaming Piano Bar experience will return to The Duplex on Sunday, September 22 at 6:30pm. Joining host extraordinaire, Michael McAssey  at the keys, will be Rick Crom, Elaine Brier, Ruby Rims, Eric Stephen Jacobs, Amanda  Brasher, Brian Michael Henry and Ann Kittredge. THERE IS NO COVER CHARGE for PIANO BAR LIVE! just a two-drink minimum.

 

Rick Crom is a comedian/actor/songwriter who has appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Footloose &  The Goodbye Girl. His films include The Post, The Lennon Report, Big Gay Musical and others. On TV, he can be seen in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “House of Cards,” “Ray Donovan,” “Inside Amy Shumer,” “Louie” and “The Dave Chappelle Show.” Rick is also the composer/lyricist of 5 Off-Broadway revues. including Newsical, The Musical, which ran for 10 years, garnering 6 Drama Desk nominations.

Rick Crom

As a stand-up comic, he’s appeared on “Caroline’s Comedy Hour,” MTV’s “Comedy Half-hour” on ShowTime and Comedy Central. He performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan and Las Vegas. Rick came to the Duplex in 1979 as the improv piano player for Chicago City Limits. He wrote a musical revue based on characters he met in the village called Oh Fine, which debuted at the Duplex in 1981 and transferred Off-Broadway the next year under the title RSVP, where it ran for 5 minutes. Other musical revues followed. The Subject was Neurosis, Absolutely Rude, Our Life & Times Revue  and What in the World, which later transferred Off-Broadway as Newsical the Musical. Rick has performed his one man shows at the Duplex, Eighty Eights and Don’t tell Mama. He is fondly remembered for his drunken performances on the Mostly Sondheim nights.

Elaine Brier

Elaine Brier  is a singer/comedienne who has been entertaining people with inappropriate material for longer than she cares to remember. She started her performing career in 1990, singing in the piano bars and practicing the fine art of shtick. Elaine worked for many years at the much beloved Rose’s Turn Piano Bar and to this day, continues to work at Don’t Tell Mama NYC in the piano, bar three nights a week. She’s been the recipient of various awards such as the Bistro Award for her one woman show, Jirque du Soleil with John McMahon and a MAC Award for “The Mom Song,” which she composed with Nate Buccieri. She’s also managed to snag the MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) Award for Best Female Piano Bar Performer a few times as well. Elaine has done many other things over the years such as voice overs, commercials, television, corporate gigs, birthing babies, etc, but performing for a live audience is still where her passion lies. She has been working at Don’t Tell Mama for about 25 years and is very happy to have it as her second home. Elaine has three kids and someday hopes to write some songs that they are allowed to listen to.

Ruby Rims

Ruby Rims is an award-winning performer and drag artist, first performing in drag in 1973, in Newark NJ. He has been seen on the “Phil Donahue Show” as well as “Mid-Day Live” with Bill Boggs and “The Geraldo Rivera Show.” He is the founder of “Teddy Cares” and Ruby Rims and Friends Do the Can-Can. Ruby was the recipient of the NY-1 “New Yorker of the Week,” as well as The Manhattan Association of Cabaret’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a 27-year AIDS survivor.

Eric Stephen Jacobs

Eric Stephen Jacobs is primarily known to the cabaret community as a photographer, makeup artist and graphic designer, but has been performing as a singer in Off-Broadway productions and cabaret rooms for decades, as well.  He is especially committed to interpreting the classic songs of the Great American Songbook’s Golden Age.

Amanda Brasher is a NYC- based singer and one of Ellen’s Stardust Diner’s famed Stardusters.

Brian Michael Henry

Brian Michael Henry is an actor and singer from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. His selected professional credits include Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet (The Hippodrome Theatre, Beef & Boards Majestic Theatre, Norwegian Cruise Line), Harry Houdini and Half Man/Half Woman in Side Show (The Media Theatre in Media, PA), Rolf in The Sound of Music (The State Theater) The Bishop and Prouvaire in Les Miserables (Cohoes Music Hall), Father (and other roles) in Ragtime (The Eagle Theatre, Bristol Riverside Theatre), Sammy in Sunset Boulevard (Media Theatre), George Banks in Mary Poppins (The Roxy Theater), Stewpot in South Pacific (Westchester Broadway Theatre, The Ivoryton Playhouse) and Show Boat (The Shubert Theatre in Boston). He lives in New York City where he maintains a private voice studio.

Ann Kittredge

Anne Kittredge is a lifelong performing artist who has performed on Broadway, Off-Broadway and at major venues across the country, working with top producers and directors throughout her career. Ann’s passion for theatre did not end after she became a mother 19 years ago, but was rather channeled into a new arena: performance education. During her break from pursuing her career, Ann was extremely active in education advocacy for children and recently introduced a drama program at a NYC public high school. She directed several children’s plays, mentored children in acting, singing and auditioning and had earned herself a seat on the District 28 Community Education Council.
