LOL Nidrei: Unforgivably Naughty Jewish Comedy returns to The Duplex after a smash hit last year. There’s no better preparation for the Jewish High Holy Days and after seeing this show, you’ll have to repent. The show (produced by Dana Friedman) will be at The Duplex on Thursday, August 22 at 9:30pm.

The evening is hosted by Leah Forster (Carolines on Broadway, Breakout.TV), with comics Dana Friedman (She-Devil Comedy Festival – Best of the Fest), Elazar Friedman (Broadway Comedy Club), Liz Glazer (Tahoe Improv), Raanan Hershberg (SiriusXM) Myk Kaplan (“Tonight Show,” “Conan,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” Netflix) and Eli Lebowicz (Stand-Up NY) and .

For over a decade, Leah Forster has been an internationally renowned entertainer in the Jewish community. In recent years she’s expanded her reach to more mainstream comedy clubs and taken to the internet, exponentially growing her already-substantial fan-base. In addition to theatres all over the world, Leah has appeared locally at Carolines on Broadway, Stand-Up NY, The Comedy Cellar and Broadway Comedy Club, as well as being featured on Breakout.TV.

Dana Friedman is, in all likelihood, New York’s first Orthodox Jewish, transsexual comic. Her performances address a wide variety of topics, including many outside the very unusual norms of standup comedy. She is the producer of Queernucopia: An Evening of LGBT & Allied Comedy Goddesses & Heathens and Right Down The Middle (East) – (no missionaries, just funny positions), which brings together Muslim, Jewish, Israeli, Arab & Palestinian standup comics. Dana has appeared with or opened for Janeane Garofalo, Lizz Winstead, Yanis Pappas, Christian Finnegan, Julia Scotti, Tim Dillon and other major headliners at clubs and theatres all over the New York tri-state area and occasionally beyond, when her parole officer is on vacation.

Elazar Friedman is a regular on the New York scene and can also be seen in Israel.  He’s been a regular at Broadway Comedy Club and its Industry Room shows, Greenwich Village Comedy Club with TJ Miller, the Q.E.D Immigrant Show, Brooklyn House of Comedy, NY Comedy Club and  Jessica in Tel Aviv with Shachar Chasson.

Liz Glazer used to be a tenured law professor, but after nine years of teaching law, she retired to be a standup comedian, writer and actor. Liz opens frequently for Myq Kaplan and has appeared at the Tahoe Improv. She’s currently based in LA where she runs “I’m Sure,” Historia and the Friend Zone.

Raanan Hershberg is a neurotic, chubby Jew by way of Louisville, KY. He was a finalist in “StandUp NBC” and The Laughing Skull Festival in Atlanta, GA. His first album, Self-Helpless, climbed all the way to the top of the iTunes Comedy Charts. Raanan’s comedy has been featured on “Laughs” on FOX and is regularly played on Sirius/XM. He is the founder of Character Assassination, a popular fictional roast series that started in Louisville and has now branched out to The Laugh Factory in Chicago and The Creek and the Cave in New York City and was selected to be a part of TBS’s New York Comedy Festival this year. He recently premiered his latest solo show Off the Grid in the New York International Fringe Festival. He regularly opens for Kathleen Madigan in sold-out theatres across the country.

Myq Kaplan has performed on “The Tonight Show,” “Conan,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” in his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special and in his own one-hour special on Netflix and now Amazon, “Small, Dork and Handsome.” He has been a finalist on “Last Comic Standing” and recently appeared on “America’s Got Talent.” His debut album, Vegan Mind Meld, was one of iTunes’ top 10 comedy albums of the year and his most recent album, No Kidding, is one of the top billion albums of eternity.

Eli Lebowicz has been doing extremely Jewish jokes all over the country and recently did a tour in Israel. Some people say his material is a bit too Jewish, but with a name like Eli Lebowicz, he wasn’t really trying to hide that.
