For those who love piano bars and supper clubs, take note that there’s a new one in town, The Nines, located in NoHo. In a time when everything old is new again, the new space reflects a modern interest in old school glamour in night life.
The Nines, under the umbrella of Golden Age Hospitality and Jon Neidich, offers atmospheric, red-draped décor and gilded ambiance for the baby grand piano serving as the room’s centerpiece.
Attached to The Nines piano bar is a restaurant, replacing the former, Acme, which was rebranded after a pandemic lockdown-induced shutdown. Chef Nicole Gajadhar’s menu is luxurious, featuring oysters, caviar service, tuna tartare, foie gras, potato with caviar, gnudi with truffles, a club sandwich and a burger. The beverage director, Ashley Santoro from the Standard hotels, has assembled a list of classic cocktails, including a few nonalcoholic choices.
The Nines is located at 9 Great Jones Street (at Lafayette Street), NYC. 212-421-5575, ninesnyc.com.
