Actor, singer and musician, Eleri Ward, will celebrate her new album, A Perfect Little Death (Ghostlight Records), at Joe’s Pub on Wednesdays, March 2 and March 16 at 9:30 PM and 7:00 PM, respectively.
A Perfect Little Death is an acoustic folk reinvention of the Sondheim canon, rendered with ethereal, melancholic guitar arrangements in what has been called “a harmonious marriage of musical theater and indie folk music, with hauntingly beautiful arrangements.” The repertoire includes, “Loving You,” Finishing the Hat,” “Johanna,” “Take Me to the World” and many more. Ward recorded all of the songs in the closet of her apartment during lockdown, following many requests for an album release after posting a video of “Johanna (Reprise)” on TikTok.
