Jazz vocalist and educator, Marianne Solivan, recipient of the First Annual NiteLife Exchange Barry Levitt Jazz Award at the 39th MAC Awards, has expanded her outreach as a prime source of vocal jazz artistry with JazzVox Studios, created for singers who want to deepen their craft, strengthen their technique and develop a true artistic voice. Aimed at working professionals, serious students, or returning singers, JazzVox Studios provides a supportive yet rigorous environment where singers are challenged, encouraged and given the tools to thrive. Programs are:
Swing & Signature
Limited to 10 vocalists, a focused, 10-week series for jazz singers who are ready to go deeper — into the groove, and into themselves. Swing feel is one of the most talked-about and least-taught aspects of jazz singing. Personal style is something every singer wants and few know how to develop intentionally. This series works on both, together, over nine Wednesday evening sessions in Manhattan — culminating in a live performance at a NYC jazz club.
Theory Hangs: Monthly Virtual Sessions for Vocalists
Every month we pick a specific topic—a chord, a concept, a rhythm, a harmonic idea—and we dig into it together: the stuff that actually makes a vocalist sound better and hear more. These sessions are virtual, casual, and open to any musician regardless of instrument or level.
Composer Nights : Four Nights/Four Giants
Each night we go deep into one composer’s world — their sound, their language, their influence on jazz singing. We listen, we analyze, we sing. You’ll leave every session knowing five tunes from that composer’s book, with charts transposed into your key.
