Vocalist Debbie Wileman appears with pianist-singer Billy Stritch at Birdland, on Monday, August 31, at 7 PM—their first full show together.
The pair team up for From London with Love, an evening celebrating Hollywood’s golden age, swinging ’60s favorites and contemporary classics, particularly focusing on Wileman’s two favorite cities: London and New York. There will be a few Judy Garland numbers, but also new material, including a duet of “Since You Left New York,” written by Stritch and Sandy Knox
London-based Wileman rose to international attention during the pandemic with her viral “A Song a Day” video series, which drew more than a million views and built a devoted global following. Celebrated for her tribute performances honoring Judy Garland and other iconic vocalists, Wileman has sold out celebrated venues including Carnegie Hall, the London Palladium, and Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End.
