The Pete Malinverni Trio with jazz singer Anais Reno appears at The Django jazz club in the Roxy Hotel on Wednesday, January 19 at 7 PM. With Malinverni on piano are bassist Ugonna Okegwo and drummer Aaron Seeber.

College freshman Reno is a prodigy, having already made her mark in the jazz world. She’s an Ella Fitzgerald Scholar who took home the 2016 Forte International Competition’s Platinum Award at Carnegie Hall and was presented the Julie Wilson Award in fall 2020 at the Mabel Mercer Foundation cabaret convention. Her debut CD, Lovesome Thing, peaked at no. 6 on iTunes’ Top 40 U.S. Jazz Albums. Reno has also performed “America the Beautiful” at a September 2021 Yankees/Mets game to mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Pete Malinverni has been a mainstay in NYC jazz since the early 1980s. He has, fifteen recording as a leader and has shared club bandstands and stages with the jazz legends Mel Lewis, Vernel Fournier, Joe Lovano, Charles Davis, Gary Smulyan and many others.
