The One and Many Voices of Jimmy James Shine in DIVAS ARE FOREVER! Friday, June 29 to Monday, September 3 in Ptown

Jimmy James brings his award-winning, multimedia, one-man show Divas Are Forever! back to Provincetown’s Pilgrim House from Friday, June 29 through Labor Day, September 3, with all shows at 10 PM. The run celebrates James’ 35th anniversary in show business. James started his show biz career in 1983, playing small clubs and casinos. In 1986, after success in New York City, he found his way to and falling in love with Ptown, where he became one of the most successful and longest running performers there.

Divas Are Forever! features video clips featuring James’ impersonation of Marilyn Monroe, the act that brought him national and international attention and numerous appearances on major television shows. The showalso includes live singing impressions and tributes of a clutch of divas (and divos), such as Cher, Elvis, Barbra Streisand, Stevie Nicks, Judy Garland,  Liza Minnelli, Bette Davis, Eartha Kitt, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Patsy Cline, Adele, Billie Holiday and a few surprises.

Also a prolific songwriter, James wrote and recorded “Fashionista” (from his  album Jamestown), which climbed to the top of the Billboard Dance Charts. He has performed for celebrities including Whoopi Goldberg, Elton John, Boy George, RuPaul, Eartha Kitt, Patty LaBelle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Allred, Bob Mackie, John Waters, Joan Rivers, Rich Little and Joan Collins. His vocal impressions caught the attention of the great impressionist Rich Little, who offered his own personal endorsement: “Jimmy James is absolutely amazing. I know what it takes to  perfect an impression & his are excellent. He has definitely done his homework. His Bette Davis blew me away.  I was very happy to give him my own standing ovation.”
