The American Popular Song Society Honors Marilyn Maye: A Photo Review of a Very Special Evening

The American Popular Song Society (APSS) honored the legendary Marvelous Marilyn Maye at its “Second Annual Benefit Evening” on Monday, June 12 at Theater 555. The gala was followed by a festive reception at The Green Room 42. The event played to a sold-out audience, hosted by Michael Lavine, who also served as music director.

Maye received a Lifetime Achievement Award as she continues to celebrate her 95th Birthday, presented by APSS president Linda Amiel Burns and APSS vice president Sandi Durell. Durell also produced the evening with a team of Burns and Board members Marilyn Lester, Glen Charlow and Lavine. Performing for Maye were Karen Akers, Jim Brochu, Charles Busch, Liz Callaway, Mark Janas, Melissa Errico, Tovah Feldshuh, Debbie Gravitte, Julie Halston, Jeff Harnar, Karen Mason, Susie Mosher, Sidney Myer, Christine Pedi, Lee Roy Reams, Jamie de Roy, Catherine Russell, Sandy Stewart with Bill Charlap, Stacy Sullivan, Marci Kraft, “Saxy Susie” Clausen and Mark William.
