1st Irish offers a mix of theatrical productions, films, online panels and Zoom events, bringing together companies and artists from Newry (Northern Ireland), Dublin, Cork, Wexford, Washington DC, The Bronx, Queens and Manhattan.

Founded in 2002, Origin Theatre Company, whose overall mission is to present impactful new works by writers from across Europe to New York audiences, has introduced plays by over 300 playwrights from such countries as the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, Macedonia, Norway, Italy, Greece, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The company is helmed by Michael Mellamphy, with Sarah Street, who took over from founder George C. Heslin when he stepped down in 2020.
