Take a Musical Tour of the Birthplace of Jazz—New Orleans—on Saturday, October 21 at Jazz at Lincoln Center

Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Jazz for Young People series presents its inaugural Family Concert of the 2023-24 Season, What is New Orleans Jazz?, hosted by Grammy Award-winning vocalist Catherine Russell, in Rose Theater on Saturday, October 21 at 3:00 PM.

Russell takes audience members on a journey through the dynamic sounds and cultures that melded to create New Orleans jazz: inventive, blues-centered, and deeply infectious. In this performance, she with her band, present a program of enduring favorites and hidden gems. Musicians are Darrian Douglas (drums), Louis Ford (reeds), Freddie Lonzo (trombone), Liany Mateo (bass), Dalton Ridenhour (piano) and Bria Skonberg (trumpet).
