The Democratic Debates

By Kevin Kennison****The first round of democratic presidential candidate debates has come and gone. Although it’s early in the election cycle, we must remain well informed about each candidates’ policies on the most pressing issues that effect us all. I sent in my direct question on arts and arts funding to the station moderators, but it obviously was not chosen to be asked. Despite this, we must remain vigilant and demand that each candidate’s platform includes arts and culture, and arts and education. Again, all politics is local, so be sure to contact your state and federal representatives and let them know what is important to you.

Engage where and when you can, and keep the dialogue going. Also, listen to the candidates, as well as those on the other side of the aisle, in addition to our like-minded friends and colleagues. Know your reliable news sources and share information from top journalists. Let’s all rally around our shared goals and not take anything for granted. Let’s keep talking.

Keep the arts alive!
