Stacy Sullivan Celebrates Album Release With Carnegie Hall Concert on January 24th

Cabaret and recording artist Stacy Sullivan performs in a one-night-only concert celebrating the release of her new album entitled Tornado Alley, at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall on Thursday, January 24, at 8:00 PM.

Tornado Alley is Sullivan’s most personal musical offering, a meteorologically themed family history spanning several decades, based on her one-woman show, Since You’ve Asked. Selections include works by Johnny Mercer, Randy Newman, Harold Arlen, Ray LaMontagne, Hoagy Carmichael, Judy Collins, Ed Sheeran, Woody Guthrie, Stevie Nicks, Cole Porter, Noël Coward, David Hajdu, Renee Rosnes, Fred Hersch and more. The evening features arrangements from producer and arranger, Troy Fannin, with direction from Savannah Brown. Sullivan is joined on stage by Fannin (guitar), Matthew Watanabe (piano), Jamie Mohamdein (bass), Bobbie Crowe III (cello) and Gökçe Erem (violin).

Sullivan is a musician with extensive formal training, with roots in country, gospel, classical music, rock and jazz. Tornado Alley exemplifies a semi-classical style that might be described as “chamber pop”—music with classical leanings not driven by drums.

Sullivan is the recipient of numerous MAC awards since 2002, as well as the New York Nightlife and Broadway World Awards for Outstanding Artist, The Bistro Award for Outstanding Female Vocalist and The Lamott Friedman Award for Best Recording for It’s a Good Day-A Tribute to Miss Peggy Lee. She has appeared in concert in venues across the world from Café Carlyle, 54 Below, Birdland and Jazz at Lincoln Center to London’s Crazy Coqs Brasserie Zedel, as well as The Ford Theatre and the Carpenter Center in Southern California, with the Pasadena Pops, the Knoxville Symphony with KT Sullivan, and “Lyrics and Lyricists” at the 92nd Street Y with Andrea Marcovicci. Her recordings include six albums on the LML Music label.

Ticket prices range from $25-$75 and may be purchased on the Carnegie Hall Website.

Weil Recital Hall is located at 881 7th Ave, 57th Street and Seventh Avenue. The Weil Recital Hall entrance is near 154 West 57th Street.
