Songwriters in Mufti Competition Heads Into Week Three with a May 29 Deadline

The York Theater’s Songwriters in Mufti competition is heading  into its third week, with submissions due by 8:00 PM (EDT) on Friday, May 29th. Songwriters should send video recordings, but audio recordings will de accepted too. Files should be sent via Dropbox or similar service. Sheet music is not necessary, but a lyric sheet is a welcome option. The idea here is to write a new song on a five-day York Mufti rehearsal schedule (meet and greet at 10 AM Monday, final dress at 8 PM Friday). Only new songs will e considered.

The Round 3 theme is: Outside. Say the organizers: “We’ve all been trapped inside for a while now, and we’ll probably be trapped inside for a while more. So this time, we challenge you to write songs about The Outside. Interpret that concept as you will—the great outdoors isn’t the only meaning of the word. It could mean you’re venturing outside a bubble. It could be about letting out something you’ve kept inside. It could be about something that there’s only an outside chance of happening.”
