SALON—“Those Pesky Memories” with Guest Host, Bill Zeffiro and Co-Host, Warren Schein and Salon Spotlight on Kendra Cunningham, May 6th

The next edition of Salon , the weekly open mic created and hosted by Mark Janas, continues at Etcetera, Etcetera  (352 West 44th Street, NYC) on Sunday, May 6th from 7-10:00 PM. (Sign-Up Begins at 6:15.)

The optional theme for the evening is “Those Pesky Memories.” However, any material, on or off theme, is always welcome at Salon.

Guest Host/Pianist will be Multiple MAC Award Winning Singer/Songwriter, Pianist, Musical Director and Recording Artist, Bill Zeffiro. Co-Host will be Warren Schein. Warren has been performing on stages from New York to LA and as a voice-over artist for TV and radio for over two decades. He will be appearing in The New Jersey Cabaret Festival on May 5th and in The Provincetown Cabaret Festival May 31st – June 3rd. He will also be at The Actors Temple in A Comedy Cavalcade on June 3rd at 7pm and at Don’t Tell Mama in Ricky Ritzel’s Broadway on June 29th at 7 PM. The Salon Spotlight will feature Kendra Cunningham. Kendra has performed as a stand-up comedian in The Glasgow Comedy Festival, Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival, The Boston Comedy Festival and The Women In Comedy Festival as well as on Last Comic Standing, Gotham Live and Nickelodeon. She will be making her one woman show debut at Don’t Tell Mama (343 West 46th St, NYC) on Thursday, May 17th at 7 PM in This  Could Be You (directed by Tanya Moberly). The evening begins at 7:00, has a 15-minute break at 8:30 and ends promptly at 10:00. If you would like to sign up to perform, see one the evening’s “Etceterettes” to fill out a card with your name, the name of your song, whether or not Mark will be playing for you and any upcoming events you’d like to promote. Salon does not present performers in order of sign-up, however, indicating requests as clearly and as early as possible as far as time restraints are concerned always makes everything much more possible. ALWAYS BRING SEVERAL SONG SELECTIONS to avoid duplication. All types of material, on or off theme are always welcome at Salon. We enthusiastically welcome instrumentalists, poets, playwrights, essayists, comics, illusionists and performance artists. Please limit your selections to three or four minutes in length (including introductions). Please also bring clear, complete charts for Mark to read.

SALON’S VIDEO SERVICE
Salon has an in-house videographer offering professional, website and YouTube-ready video clips for anyone who is interested. The cost is $20 in cash per song—payable in advance at sign-up. If you wish to participate, just let one of The Etceterettes know. This service is completely optional.

There is a $10 cash cover ($5 for students with I.D.) collected at the door and a $20 food/drink minimum (cash or credit) per person. (For more information about Etcetera, Etcetera’s menu: www.etcetcnyc.com. A 20% gratuity is added to all checks.) There are no reservations; seating is on a first come/first served basis.
