Drag artist Randy Roberts‘ recent appearance at The Laurie Beechman Theatre was a mix of singing, comedy and impersonation, beginning with a dramatic entrance as “Bette Midler.” Therein, during the show, followed takes on Cher and Liza, as in Minnelli. But it was Roberts herself, in classic drag (and costumes galore in stunning sequins and rhinestones) that brought down the house with wit, patter and song delivered with a big, powerful voice—from Vegas to Hollywood to Broadway.
