By Scott Barbarino****As the Provincetown CabaretFest gets under way, I’m looking forward to seeing many of the shows—and seeing many of you from Boston, New York and beyond. I’ll be “in the lounge,” as they say, with Boston NightLife Exchange reviewer, Joni Rapp. Please don’t hesitate to come up to me to say hello. Or call or text me at 646-491-0987. I welcome, as always, the chance to get to know anyone in the cabaret community and those of you who love and support this art form and its music as much as I do.

This year, CabaretFest showcases over thirty vocalists, musicians and comedians, appearing in the Paramount Room of The Crown and Anchor. The Friday night show “Music, Music, Music”. will be the largest variety show every produced in the festival’s eighteen-year history. The 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Carol O’Shaughnessy.

CabaretFest producer, Patricia Fitzpatrick will award scholarships to three emerging performers—Jason Henderson, Janet Stanton and Zoe Stewart—underwritten by Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, M.D., a longtime supporter of the festival. They will perform along with graduates of the Marilyn Maye Master Class, at the festival’s closing brunch, “Memories Are Made of This,” on June 3, with the Brian Patton Trio, featuring Ron Ormsby on bass, “Doc Jazz” Alan Cling er on electric guitar and Brian Patton on piano.

Here’s a list of the performers at the festival, most of whom I’ll be seeing. It’s quite a line-up:  Mark Alan, Jo Brisbane, Joe Della Penna, Brian DeLorenzo, John DeMarco, Dawn Derow, Jay Cee Driesen, Patricia Fitzpatrick, Rod Ferguson, Michael Garin, Stephen Hanks, Jeff Harnar, Jason Henderson, Jim Keating, Vivienne LaBarbera, Tom La Mark, Jeff Macauley, The Max & Cam Duo, David Meulemans, Mardie Millit, Carolyn Montgomery, John O’Neil, Carol O’Shaughnessy, Brian Patton, Joni Rapp, Alex Rybeck, Lydia Sabosto, Warren Schein, Bryon Sommers, John Spinks, Janet Stanton, Zoe Stewart, John Thomas, Richard White, Nancy & Dave Wilber Duo, and Kevin Wood.

See you in Provincetown at the CabaretFest!
