The New York Pops and Music Director Steven Reineke present the season opening concert, 21st Century Broadway, on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 8:00 PM in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.
Joined by a quartet of Broadway stars, Hailey Kilgore, Derek Klena, Javier Muñoz and Ali Stroker, The Pops performs a brand-new program that features some of the most iconic Broadway hits since 2000. Songs include “Perfect” (Jagged Little Pill), “Dear Theodosia” (Hamilton), “For Good” (Wicked) and “Waving Through a Window” (Dear Evan Hansen), plus highlights from Aladdin, Waitress, The Color Purple, Catch Me if You Can and more. Each guest singer receives a generous turn in the spotlight, and they also join forces in a series of duets and group numbers.
The New York Pops’ 2023-24 season of performances additionally includes One Night Only: An Evening with Sutton Foster and Kelli O’Hara on Friday, November 17, 2023; Gershwin: A Century of Rhapsody in Blue on Friday, February 9, 2024 featuring Montego Glover and Lee Musiker; and Hitsville: Celebrating Motown on Friday, March 15, 2024 featuring Bryan Terrell Clark and Valisia LeKae.
