Welcome to the inaugural cabaret directors interview series on NiteLife Exchanges, hosted by NLE Publisher Scott Barbarino and co-hosted by Tony Javed. Time was in the cabaret world, when a big question was: do I really need a director? Nowadays, it’s become apparent that the answer is a clear “yes!” Our first interview is with the in-demand Jeff Harnar, the multi-award-winning cabaret singer, recording artist and director, recognized as one of the top in his craft in a career spanning over four decades. Harnar is not only a master of vocal interpretation and storytelling, honed at appearances at the Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, 54 Below, Birdland and others nationally and internationally, but he brings that experience with him to the projects he directs.
