Amidst the current political climate surrounding women, this deeply personal record takes center stage. Stating that “Women are the heartbeat of the world,” Davies, a single mother and, since the pandemic, a caretaker for her mother, recorded and filmed the album at Power Station in NYC in front of a select studio audience.

Davies was accompanied by acclaimed by Clint DeGanon on drums, Mark Berman on piano, Alex Prezzano on guitar and Dave Richards on bass. The acoustic blues rock album consists of of seven new songs as well as the late Jerry Ragovoy’s hits for Janis Joplin, including “Piece Of My Heart,” a mashup of ” Stay With Me/Cry Baby” and a song which Janis Joplin never had a chance to record due to her untimely death: “Don’t Compromise Yourself.”
