MAC Announces a New Initiative: The MAC Community Chorus

A new pilot program, the new MAC Community Chorus will be an opportunity for all interested members to gather and sing choral arrangements of songs. This will be group singing with two or more parts depending on the number of people who register and attend. The program is a perfect opportunity to join in for any members who prefer not to sing solo, but would love to sing as part of a group. All levels of experience are welcome.

The first three gatherings are: Thursdays, February 22, March 14 and April 4, all from 7 -9 PM. Chorus Leader-Musical Director is Bill Zeffiro.

Meetings will take place in a rehearsal room in the theater district, to be announced.

MAC is covering all costs for all members for these first three sessions! If enough members attend and indicate an interest in continuing on an on-going basis, MAC will make this pilot program a permanent fixture on the MAC canvas.

Bill Zeffiro is a talented musical director, who has been part of the community for many years, and comes with a lot of experience teaching multi-part choral material to groups. He is now researching and preparing vocal arrangements from Broadway scores for the first meeting. For future meetings, participants will be welcome to suggest other types of choral music they would like to sing.

To attend the first session, make a reservation in advance by emailing us at CabaretMACnyc@gmail.com; identify your voice type (soprano, alto, tenor, bass), or what vocal range you are most comfortable singing. If you don’t know or aren’t sure, Bill will help place you at the first meeting. Once you make your reservation, you will be emailed the meeting location and a PDF of the music we will be singing in advance of the first meeting.
