Live Music Returns to West 46th Street

Phase 3 of reopening New York City doesn’t include indoor dining yet, but the outdoor dining permissible under Phase 2 is well underway. The boon for those missing live music is that two venues on West 46th Street—Swing 46 and Don’t Tell Mama— are not only providing food and drink, but live music as well.

Swing 46 Jazz & Supper Club is serving its full menu and offering live music daily/nightly on the outdoor covered patio. Social distance seating is in effect and patrons must wear masks when not eating or drinking. Food is served between 3 pm and 10 pm, and a live music jazz trio performs between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. Swing 46 is located at 349 West 46th St. Call 212-262-9554 for further information.

A few doors down the block at 343 West 46th St., Don’t Tell Mama (DTM) is open for limited service. While the food and beverage service at this time is strictly takeout, the piano is manned and its music can be heard as usual in the small outdoor entryway and the sidewalk. DTM’s familiar staff of bartenders and piano bar pianists are on hand from 4 pm to 9 pm. For further information, call 212-757-0788.
