Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 50th Anniversary Concert Is on Monday, February 17

Manhattan Concert Productions upcoming one-night presentation of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice) is scheduled to take place at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall on Monday, February 17 at 8:00 pm.

Newly announced cast members include married stars Andy Karl and Orfeh as Potiphar and Potiphar’s Wife, with Chuck Cooper as Jacob, Merle Dandridge as Pharaoh, Brooks Ashmanskas as the Baker, Gavin Lee as the Butler, Jay Armstrong Johnson as Reuben, Bonnie Milligan as Gad, Mykal Kilgore as Judah, Robert Ariza as Zebulon, Rodrick Covington as Simeon, Jason Gotay as Issachar, Tiffany Mann as Asher, Julia Mattison as Levi, Brian Sears as Napthali, Daniel Yearwood as Dan and Mason Grey Zaroff as Benjamin.

They join the previously announced Noah Galvin as Joseph alongside Eden Espinosa, Alex Newell and Jessica Vosk sharing the role of the Narrator. Michael Arden directs.

Marking the 50th anniversary of the 1970 amateur stage productions that gave Joseph its first life the concert will feature a chorus of more than 200 singers from across the United States and the New York City Chamber Orchestra.

The musical follows the story of Jacob’s favorite son, Joseph, and his eleven brothers. After being sold into slavery by the brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled Pharaoh. As Joseph strives to resolve Egypt’s famine, he becomes Pharaoh’s right-hand man and eventually reunites with his family.
