Two E Lounge, one of the newest locations for jazz and cabaret, presents Icons of Jazz—To Buenos Aires With Love, a celebration of Argentinian Tango on Tuesday, February 26th, featuring Grammy-nominated bassist Pablo Asan and his quartet.
The evening will offer a varied set list, from classic songs and arrangements of the 1930s and 40s Golden Era to the innovative tangos of Astor Piazzolla and Aslan’s own brand of Jazz Tango. The Pablo Aslan Quartet features singer Hector “Pulpo” Pereyra, pianist Emilio Solla, Javier Sanchez (bandoneon) and Marija Kovacevich (violin). Dancers Sonia Villani and Cristiano Adiutori BIos of the duo Tango di Pietra will also perform.
Argentine-born Pablo Aslan has performed and recorded with such artists as Yo-Yo Ma, Shakira, Lalo Schifrin, the New World Symphony and many more. His CD, Tango Grill, was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Tango Album.
