Ian Finkel and Elliot Finkel Take Center Stage at the Metropolitan Room 7/15, 8/3, 9/9 & 9/28

The Metropolitan Room in conjunction with Bernie Furshpan is proud to announce the appearance of Ian Finkel, the celebrated xylophonist and renowned pianist Elliot Finkel,  backed by some of New York’s finest musicians. Featuring special guests each night, the brothers bring their special brand of music, banter, and entertainment. Guests include comedian Bob Greenberg (7/15), comedian Dave Konig (8/3), magician Jeff Moche (9/9) and with a very special performance by Cheryl Ann Allen as Sophie Tucker in Sophie Tucker  Meets Ian Finkel (9/28).

The July 15 show is at 7 PM.  All other show times are 9:30 PM. 

Ian Finkel has been called “the world’s greatest xylophone virtuoso.” He has appeared and written for such stars as Michael Feinstein, Sid Caesar, Ginger Rogers, Tito Puente,  Larry Gatlin, Martin Mull, and Madeline Kahn — to name just a few. Mr. Finkel has covered much ground in the music world.  He has appeared on all major television stations, recorded for many record labels and has had successful concert tours in Japan, Korea, Canada, Mexico, England, Norway, Puerto Rico and throughout the U.S. He  has collaborated with Philip Glass and has heard his works performed by numerous orchestras such as the American Symphony Orchestra and the Little Orchestra Society. Additionally, he has performed in and written for numerous television shows, films, and live performances including: Love Laffs (Lifetime) with Tern Gar, Martin Mull (Showtime), Jerry Lewis’ MDA  Telethon, Woody Allen’s Radio Days, Emo Phillips, Judy Tenuta, Taj Mahal hotel (Atlantic City), Michael Feinstein on Broadway, Sid Caesar’s Show at the Village Vanguard and Second Avenue to Broadway: Fyvush Finkel Live, Read-a-thon with Sesame Street Players,  Rainbow Wars (nominated for an Academy Award), Songs from the Neighborhood (Grammy Award), It’s Up to All of Us,  Sophie Tucker in Person (director, writer, orchestrator), Addicted to Show Business (director, writer,  arranger), Nick at Nite’s Music of Vic Mizzy (The Addams Family, Green Acres), IBM Industrials, CNN Cable News, Port Authority, hundreds of colleges across the US and Canada (Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody, etc.) as well as condo tours of Florida, and he’s been a headliner on all cruise ship lines.

Elliot Finkel has appeared in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Hollywood Bowl, the White House, and has appeared with such orchestras as Los Angeles,  National, Dallas, and many others. He and his brother Ian has co-starred on Broadway with Michael Feinstein, Sid Caesar, and their beloved father, Emmy Award winner Fyvush Finkel. He has toured with such diverse artists as Ginger Rogers, Milton Berle, Theodore Bikel, Roberta Peters and Jan Peerce — and currently his brother Ian. The family shows Finkel Follies, and Fyvush Finkel Live all received Drama Desk nominations.
