Helane Blumfield returns to the Laurie Beechman Theatre on Thursday, January 17th at 7 pm with her Broadway World nominated show, Tight Pants And Tears Of Joy, My love affair with Tom Jones and NeilDiamond! to benef *SINGNASIUM and its Scholarship Program.
Tight Pants And Tears Of Joy, My love affair with Tom Jones and Neil Diamond! Is a nostalgic look at the lives and careers of two music legends, exposing Blumfield for the Super Fan that she is! From Diamond’s “Brooklyn Roads” and “Play Me” to Jones’ “Its Not Unusual” and “Sex-Bomb”, Blumfield, with Derek Staranowski, Alexa Welch, and her band, serve up an evening of hits as well as lesser known gems. Musical Director is Bobby Peaco.
Blumfield returned to performing five years ago after 25 years in the advertising and retail industry. She had been “ecstatically happy” and content throughout an extensive career as a Creative Director, which she describes as one of her two creative loves, singing being the other. Her last one-woman show was Call Me H! in the spring of 2016 at Don’t Tell Mama in NYC
