Groovin’ on a Sunday presents “A Celebration of Women Writers, Part 2” Sunday, March 18th

On Sunday, March 18th at 4 PM, Groovin’ on a Sunday presents A Celebration of Women Writers, Part 2 at 53 Above Broadway. Deborah Stone, Gary Portadin and Carolyn Marx will sample their upcoming shows at Don’t Tell Mama along with the Groovin’ Gang: Jason Ellis, Rhonda Hansome and Evelyn Sullivan. Also appearing are first-timers Teresa Fischer, Elowyn Castle, Mischa Kischkum and Rhonda Cole. The list of women songwriters in honor of Women’s History Month includes Dorothy Fields, Christine Lavin, Carol Hall, Amanda McBroom, Peggy Lee, Natalie Merchant and Micki Grant, among others.

Co-hosted by Ann McCormack and Woody Regan, Groovin’ on a Sunday is a variety show that has been presenting talent since December 2012. Groovin’ features cabaret artists, storytellers, musicians, comedians, novelists and poets––veterans and newcomers––promoting their established work, or experimenting with works-in-progress, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Upcoming shows are April 22nd Groovin’ on Earth Day at Salon,  May 20th and June 23rd Groovin’ for NYC Pride (benefiting the Hetrick-Martin Institute), to be followed by Groovin’ in the Summertime.
