ELSA LANCHESTER: SHE’S ALIVE! Opens a Run on Friday, October 6 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre

The world premiere of Elsa Lanchester: She’s Alive! a biographical play with music, performs every Friday from October 6 through November 3 at 7 PM at The Laurie Beechman Theatre. The show was written by and is performed by Charlotte Booker (ABC-TV’s “Hi Honey I’m Home;” Born Yesterday on Broadway; Quilters original cast and Psycho Beach Party Off-Broadway). The production features Mark Nutter at the piano.

Elsa Lanchester, best known today as the actress who played the Bride of Frankenstein, was a twice-Oscar nominated star who went on to become a character actress in films including Mary Poppins and That Darn Cat! Off-screen, she lived a very colorful life – including a marriage to gay actor Charles Laughton.

Elsa Lanchester: She’s Alive! recreates a bawdy cabaret/nightclub act that Lanchester toured in late in life– including some of the original ribald songs she performed — intermixed with backstage memories of a fascinating life spent in show business.
