Do Re #Metoo: A Night of Comedy and Sexist Songs Performed by Righteous Women—at the Gotham Comedy Club, February 26

The promise is for a fun evening with comedy and music, for Do Re #Metoo: A Night of Comedy and Sexist Songs Performed by Righteous Women at the Gotham Comedy Club, on February 26th at 7:30 PM. The idea is to support women and their status as people, not as “hosts.” And even though the organizers of the show feel deeply that the debate about a woman’s choice is not over, and needs protection, lest society moves further backwards, the activist entertainment is committed to fun, with comedy interspersed with jazz—all to benefit Lady Parts Justice League.

Baritone saxophonist Claire Daly has put together an all-star band featuring Allison Miller on drums, Carmen Staaf on keyboards, and Tessa Souter, Melanie Charles, Alexis Cole, and Nicole Zuraitis on vocals. The show will feature comedy from LPJL founder, Lizz Winstead (co-creator of The Daily Show), Leah Bonnema (IFC’s Comedy Drop), Jaye McBride (Great American Comedy Festival), and Sydnee Washington (host of The Warm Up).
