Singer Dean Benner, along with guest artist Christine Shuler, and the six-piece Manhattan Cowboy Band, will be performing Lovin’ Every Mile at The Triad on two Sundays, November 12 and 19 at 6 PM. Direction is by the award-winning Linda Amiel Burns, who has been collaborating with Benner since 2010.
The show is a celebration of the traditional country music of Hank Williams, Bob Wills’ Western swing and Merle Haggard’s Bakersfield sound. The song list spans several decades, from 1917 through the 1990’s with arrangements by music director, Richard Danley. The band, many of whom have played together with Benner over the past 10 years includes Danley on piano, Stephen Benson on guitar, Mike Campenni on drums, Jack Stanton on pedal steel guitar, Matt Scharfglass on bass and Jonathan Weber on violin/fiddle.
Benner was raised in rural Indiana, listening to many types of music, including those of his parent’s generation. He spent spent thirty-plus years as a successful executive working for various Wall Street firms before retiring in 2014 and making a career shift cabaret. Previous shows have included Nice N’ Easy, Honky Tonk Man and Country Jukebox.
