Conundrum Stages presents South Florida’s Got Talent: The Conundrum Stages Experience Saturday, August 4

Conundrum Stages will return to the Sunrise Civic Center on August 4th to present a brand-new variety showcase, South Florida’s Got Talent: The Conundrum Stages Experience, spotlighting talented performers from the Tri-County area.  Their previous event, Café Conundrum played to packed houses almost four years ago.

South Florida’s Got Talent will not only celebrate Conundrum Stages’ 10th anniversary, it will also explore the ideology of the company: “To provide a platform for our neighborhood talent, and to educate the public about what we have in our own backyard!”

South Florida’s Got Talent: The Conundrum Stages Experience will feature two critically acclaimed vocalists – cabaret singer David Meulemans, and singer-songwriter Dana DellaCamera, world-renowned magician Pasquale, and family belly dance duo Symphony Hau and Elviza, as well as several other talented local artists. The event will be hosted by comedian Rhett Thompson.

Conundrum Stages is a South Florida based performance company that produces variety programs featuring local performers in various disciplines, including theatre, music, comedy, and other forms of arts and entertainment.   Established in 2008, Conundrum was created to provide platforms for local acts to showcase their skillsets as well as to work with like-minded entities in an effort to strengthen the South Florida talent scene.  Conundrum has produced shows in intimate hospitality venues such as Gigi’s Music Café in Sunrise, and the Open Stage Club in Coral Gables, as well as in performance focused venues such as ArtServe and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, both in Fort Lauderdale.   Conundrum has also provided talent for a number of community events including the Sailboat Bend Art Festival, the Doral Food and Wine Festival, and the NE Focal Point Senior Center. 

South Florida’s Got Talent:  The Conundrum Stages Experience will be presented at the Sunrise Civic Center on Saturday, August 4th at 7 pm.  Tickets are $18 ($10 for students).    The theatre is located at 10610 W. Performer Bios


RHETT THOMPSON (Host) is a comedian, screenwriter and actor, originally from Akron, Ohio, now based in Miami. She has been an avid Conundrum Stages contributor since 2011; she made her debut at Conundrum Stages On the Boards Alternative Theater Festival. Since then, Rhett has acted in other capacities with Conundrum Stages including hosting and associated producing. Rhett also has an Instagram channel, @YoPhatGirl, where she flips thrift store selling into profit. She credits her Japanese mother’s strength, tenacity and love of Black Culture for her fish-out-of-water survival skills and dark humor.

DAVID MEULEMANS (Performer) has been active in Conundrum Stages programs since 2010 and has been part of the South Florida entertainment scene since the late 1990s.  Career highlights include a duet with Carol Channing, and a regional tour of Cinderella with Davy Jones and Jude Parry. He has appeared with the South Florida Grand Opera, South Florida Light Opera, Piccolo Opera, South Florida Concert Association.  David has travelled throughout the United States and to London with tours of his one man shows – “Hello, New York”, “Welcome to My World”, “Journeys of the Heart” and “December Songs”, among others.  He has appeared in New York City at Don’t Tell Mama and the Metropolitan Room, as well as London’s Pheasantry, and the famous West End cabaret Crazy Coqs, Chicago’s Davenports and Stage 72, and in St. Louis at The Emerald Room, and the Kranzenburg Theatre.  David has studied with Tony Award nominee, Sally Mayes, Tony winner Faith Prince, Ann Hampton Callaway, and Christine Ebersole (opening for her at the Kranzenburg Theatre in St. Louis in 2016).  David has also been a featured performer at Yale University where he participated in the “Music on the Green” series where he was named one of Cabaret’s future stars.  For more info on David, check his website at www.davidmeulemans.com.

DANA DELLACAMERA (Performer) – is a musician, actor, director and producer originally from Connecticut, however she has lived most of her life in South Florida. Dana has acted in award winning short films like “Bon Voyage” (Lonely Avocado Productions, 1st place in the 48 Hour Film Festival, 2013) and she won 1st “Best Film” for being the Assistant Director/Producer on “Deep Within” in 2016. She also completed her first feature film, “Kali Mah Tina” as Assistant Director/Producer with the 1310 Bandits Collective, which was released in March 2017 and was screened at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. Dana has performed in a variety of musical theater productions including Wake Up Sleeping Beauty at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Dana has been an enthusiastic Conundrum Stages contributor since 2010, working in different capacities as performer, host, and collaborator, and continues to partner with Conundrum to create more platforms for artists to perform and connect with the community.

PASQUALE (Performer) is an instantly likable older gentleman from Italy with a fancy mustache and a charming demeanor. Billed as Italy’s Greatest Magician in America, his wonderful accent, storytelling, jokes, music, Italian sayings, philosophies, and yes, a bit of really good magic will charm every person in the audience. Pasquale is the brainchild of veteran performer Dan Christopher, who has been working for over 40 years in venues from South Florida to Las Vegas. Dan joined Conundrum Stages in 2015, participating in the company’s comedy shows and community events and we are glad to have him back with his alter ego. The character of Pasquale is based on Dan’s grandfather (same name), as well as other Italian character actors. SYMPHONY HAU & ELVIZA (Performers) – Symphony Hau joined Conundrum Stages in November 2017, presenting her original music at the Doral Food & Wine Festival. She has been dancing since the age of 8 and has performed in several festivals, and taught classes over the years. In addition to dance, her music is out on digital platforms such as iTunes & Spotify. Symphony recently took a more serious turn towards acting in which she is humbled to have lead in a film that recently made it to its third international film festival. Symphony’s mother, Elviza is a professional performer of Middle Eastern belly dance. Elviza has been featured at many events over the past 15 years such as the Grand opening of the South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center, City of Homestead Halloween, Dragon Boat Festival, etc. and closed out the HealthSouth Annual Fair for almost 10 years running. She produced her own annual holiday event called Skeleton Dance/Dia De Los Muertos Bailando for 8 years. She was the house dancer at UVA Restaurant 2003-2008, and has taught at various studios. Her daughter Symphony Hau performs with her as part of their Rockabelly Hippies dance troupe and they also sing old-timey music together in the band Corn Country! Elviza also has a classic rock band called Medusa Stoned which had the honor of appearing at a recent Miami Festivals and Events Convention.
