Chicago Cabaret and Jazz Couple, Anne and Mark Burnell Live-Stream on Thursday, December 3, 10 and 17

New York City isn’t the only town to feature cabaret couples, such as Barbara Fasano and Eric Comstock or Mardi Millet and Michael Garin. For about 20 years, Chicago venues have hosted pianist-vocalist Mark Burnell and vocalist Anne Burnell. The pair have been live-streaming on YouTube and Facebook, and continue to perform vocal harmonies, jazz, blues, American songbook and a cappella there on Thursdays, December 3, 10, and 17 at 7 PM CST.

The Burnells have performed internationally and when at home can be seen at some of the Windy City’s top spots including Davenport’s, Skokie Theater, Park West, and Drury Lane Water Tower Theatre. Their recordings, Little Things We Do Together, Blues In The Night and Summer Days & Dreamy Nights, have been featured on Chicago radio stations WGN, WXRT, WDCB and nationally on Radio One Network.

Mark Burnell has worked with Dave Frishberg, Connie Francis, Howie Mandel, Laura San Giocomo, Richie Cole, Rob Marshall, Blair Underwood and Seth Myers, to name a few.  In 2009 and 2010 he was a Master Instructor at the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University. Anne Burnell, in addition to performing with her husband, is also a frequent collaborator with Chicago-based jazz guitarist Henry Johnson.
