Brazilian vocalist Denise Reis is at Baretto on Saturday, April 4 at 7:30 PM.
Reis is a singer, guitarist and songwriter known for her distinctive voice and ability to mimic a trumpet using only her voice. Her performances blend Brazilian popular music, jazz and world music, and have taken her to stages across Europe, the Americas, and beyond. She has released two acclaimed albums.
Since 2014, she has resided in New York, and has been invited to tour in various countries including Senegal, Ukraine, Venezuela, Portugal and Israel, where she had the privilege of working with some of the world’s most famous and talented international artists. In 2009 Denise was honored with an invitation to compose a song and perform for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in Albany, NY.
