Author/Critic Robert Windeler and Performer Shana Farr Present “Julie Andrews: A Life on Stage and Screen” on Tuesday, May 25

The members only Dutch Treat Club is opening its streaming luncheon meeting to the public on Tuesday, May 25 at 1 PM ET for Robert Windeler and Shana Farr’s presentation of Julie Andrews: A Life on Stage and Screen.

Author and critic Windeler, and performer Farr, will discuss the author’s two books Julie Andrews: A Life on Stage and Screen and Julie Andrews. Farr, along with music director/pianist, Jon Weber, will also bring to life some of the songs made famous by Andrews, who quickly became America’s sweetheart and influenced the great songwriters of Broadway and Hollywood. Windeler is the author of 18 books, including biographies of Mary Pickford, Julie Andrews, Shirley Temple, and Burt Lancaster. As a West Coast correspondent for The New York Times and Time magazine, he covered movies, television and music. He was an arts and entertainment critic for National Public Radio and has contributed to a variety of other publications.

Farr is a classically trained actress/singer and award-winning cabaret/concert performer who has played at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center Rose Theater, Feinsteins at The Regency, Feinsteins/54 Below, Birdland, London’s Crazy Coqs and more. She has performed leading roles in musical theater, operetta and plays, including The Music Man, The Merry Widow, Blithe Spirit, Sweet Bird of Youth, Oklahoma!, Love Letters, The Pirates of Penzance and more at a variety of major venues including New York City Center, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and others.
