Artemisia LeFay’s “It’s All a Swindle” Plays on Tuesday, June 16 at Don’t Tell Mama

Kabarettist of Golden Age Weimar, Artemisia LeFay, presents It’s All a Swindle on Tuesday, June 16 at 7 PM at Don’t Tell Mama. Guest artists featured are pianist Renée Guerrero and bassist Clayton Thompson.

The chanteuse and composer will continue her exploration of the music of Weill, Spoliansky, Hollaender and others, proving that not only did radical thinkers, folks of the fringe and vaudevillians of 1920s and 1930s endure times of fascist political upheaval, but that their words, songs and stories have outlived them. Learn just how people have used music as medicine in this increasingly parallel period of history, when everything was “all a swindle.”

Cash cover charge is $20. There is a 2-drink minimum. Tickets and information are available at donttellmamanyc.com.

Don’t Tell Mama is located at 343 W, 46th St., NYC
