American Songbook Association Gala Honors Stephen Schwartz, on Monday, May 9, at Merkin Hall

American Songbook Association (ASA) will hold the organizations Third Annual Gala, honoring Stephen Schwartz, on Monday, May 9 at 7:30 PM at Merkin Hall at Kaufman Music Center.

Schwartz—the Oscar, Grammy and Tony-winning composer and lyricist of Wicked, Pippin, Godspell and more—will receive the 2022 ASA Lifetime Achievement Award. The event will star a cast of performers featured in Schwartz’s musicals, including Ann Harada, Paul Shaffer, Debbie Gravitte, Rupert Holmes, Kurt Peterson, John Bucchino, Teri Ralston and more. The evening is directed by Scott Coulter and features Michael Roberts as music director.
