Cabaret star Lorna Dallas brings The Cabaret Files to the Laurie Beechman Theatre on Thursday, September 24 at 7 PM. Musical director is pianist-arrranger Christopher Denny and director is Barry Kleinbort.
Dallas, the recipient of a 2020 Bistro Award for “Consummate Cabaret Artistry,” revisits musical moments she essayed during the ten years following her return to New York from London—some of which haven’t been performed in a club since 2016. Dallas also introduces a handful of selections that were arranged for her over the years by her ace production team, but, for one reason or another, never made the final cut.
The Cabaret Files includes imaginatively arranged gems by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerry Herman, James Taylor, and a favorite of Dallas’, the British composer, Ivor Novello.
