Cabaret performer Bob O’Hare presents an encore of We Take the Town: The Shows of Robert Preston at Don’t Tell Mama on Sunday, December 14 at 4 PM and Friday, January 23 at 7 PM. The show is directed by the MAC Award-winning Eric Michael Gillett, with accompaniment by the Tom Nelson Trio: Tom Nelson musical director and pianist, bassist Tom Kirchmer and drummer Peter Grant. Gillett also makes a guest appearances alongside vocalist Gretchen Reinhagen.
O’Hare celebrates the musical career of the Tony Award-winning actor and singer, featuring songs from Preston’s hit musicals The Music Man and I Do! I Do!, as well as material from other stage ventures such as Ben Franklin in Paris and We Take the Town, plus his film roles in Mame and Victor/Victoria. Song highlights include “Ya Got Trouble,” “I Won’t Send Roses, ” “My Cup Runneth Over,” “How Does the Wine Taste?” and more.
Proceeds from the show benefit Benjamin House, an assisted-living facility for the mentally challenged in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
