By Scott Barbarino***As Publisher of NiteLife Exchange, I’m pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Manhattan Association of Cabarets to present the first annual NiteLife Exchange Barry Levitt Jazz Award at the 39th MAC Awards program on Thursday, April 10th.

Barry Levitt would have celebrated his 78th birthday this year on February 4th, and is sorely missed for his talents in the cabaret, jazz and musical theater worlds as a pianist, arranger, composer, conductor, orchestrator and “musical director at large.” He truly earned his moniker as The Mensch as a wonderful friend to us all. He and I made beautiful music together I’m proud to say, with him as a creator and myself as a producer.

The NLE team is beyond pleased to honor Barry Levitt in the MAC Awards performance program this year on Thursday, April 10. SAVE THE DATE

And here’s an example of Barry’s collaborative style and superb pianism: Kathy “Babe” Robinson delivering a heart-rending version of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” at the Metropolitan Room.
