A TRUE STORY: In 1987, two timid young boys, total strangers to one another, were herded into the awkward new world that was junior high school in West Monroe, Louisiana. As fate would have it, by some glitch in the system, these two boys out of hundreds of students were assigned with the exact same schedule-all seven class-periods were identical. Their moms, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Johnson, made the decision then and there to force a friendship upon their unsuspecting prepubescent sons. Jeremy and Clay had to do projects together, have joint study nights, play dates, and sleep-overs; it was horrible! But, eventually, they tolerated each other…. and slowly a lifelong friendship began to take root, with music as their strongest bond. Through high school and into college at Louisiana Tech, these two explored a myriad of musical genres, performing rhythm & blues, rock and roll, classical, jazz, Christian music, and even rap. As the years rolled by, their friendship remained, even as they started their own families. After learning the hard way how not to run a band, Jeremy formed the Equinox Orchestra and asked Clay to come sing on a few tunes. That was the catalyst. It didn’t take long for Jeremy to look eastward for a new home base, and he planned his move to Savannah, Georgia. His moving date was the very day that Hurricane Katrina made landfall. Clay hunkered down in Baton Rouge, but, almost three years later, he followed suit and moved his family to Savannah. From their new home on the Southeast coast, Jeremy and Clay have been amazed to see the Equinox Orchestra grow beyond their wildest dreams, taking the show on the road all over the globe, from Miami to Halifax, NS, Toronto to L.A., Chicago to Poland, and everywhere in between. Now, they are taking the show to television and beyond. Find out more at www.EquinoxOrchestra.com.
