The American Popular Song Society Tribute to Lee Roy Reams Was a Sold-Out Success

The American Popular Song Society benefit honoring Lee Roy Reams with a Lifetime Achievement Award was a star-studded success. The sold-out show at The Cutting Room, on Sunday June 12 began with a cocktail hour, followed by the performances by Marilyn Maye, Danny Bacher, Jim Brochu, Charles Busch, Michael Demby Cain, Scott Coulter, Tony Danza, Lewis J. Stadlin, Melissa Errico, Beth Fowler, Penny Fuller, Jeff Harnar, Karen Mason, Sidney Myer, KT Sullivan, Walter Willison, Steve Ross, Jon Weber and Karen Ziemba. Artist Ken Fallin presented Reams with a drawing of himself, among other tributes from those who couldn’t be present.

The music director was Michael Lavine, who hosted from the piano and kept the show moving at a thrilling pace. The event was co-produced by Sandi Durell and Marilyn Lester.  Linda Amiel Burns is the president of APSS.
