“Take Me Back to Manhattan,” From Jazz at the Ballroom, Plays at Chelsea Table+Stage on Saturday, September 3

The award-winning nonprofit, Jazz at the Ballroom, presents Take Me Back to Manhattan, hosted by NPR’s Ophira Eiesenberg, on Saturday, September 3 at 7:00 PM at Chelsea Table+Stage.

Eisenberg is a Canadian-born standup comedian and writer. She hosts NPR’s nationally syndicated comedy trivia show “Ask Me Another,” which airs on 400+ stations. She has appeared at Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, The New Yorker Festival, The New York Comedy Festival, Moontower Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, The Nantucket Film Festival, Women in Comedy Festival and more.

Take Me Back to Manhattan is a tribute to New York, the birthplace of the American Songbook, the song selections are the praises of the city where the Songbook has always hung its hat. In addition to bandleader Konrad Paszkudzki on piano, the evening features vocalists Anaïs Reno, Kyle Taylor Parker, Vanisha Gould and Olivia Chindamo. The band features Jay Sawyer on drums, Dylan Shamat on bass and Sam Raderman  on guitar.

Jazz at the Ballroom is a non-profit organization committed to keeping swinging, classic jazz a thriving art form, especially with providing the greater public with one-of-a-kind experience. The group works with the world’s most talented jazz musicians in intimate and unique settings, focusing on the Great American Songbook and the timelessness the music embraces. Beyond ballroom concerts, the organization works to introduce, teach and explore this art form through workshops and special events.

Tickets are $40-65, in addition to a service charge.
