“Henderson projects a rare and pure joy.” – Victoria Ordin, Broadway World

Henderson performed a multiple-show run of ‘T’Ain’t Nobody’s Bizness If I Do at Don’t Tell Mama in September. The repertoire includes music from American and International Songbooks, including composers Charles Aznavour, Doug Cohen, The Gershwins, Jerry Herman, Amanda McBroom and Cole Porter among others. Douglas J. Cohen, her musical director and arranger and longtime collaborator will join her again in January, with bassist Bob Sabin. Barry Kleinbort, a 10-time MAC Award-winner, directs.

Henderson began her singing career in college as a vocalist traveling with big bands, and since has played in Litchfield County to packed houses at The Merryall Center for the Arts, Skitch and Ruth Henderson’s Hunt Hill Farm and The Richter Association for the Arts. Over 10 years, Henderson created and performed five one-woman shows at Westport, CT’s Levitt Pavilion in Fairfield County, and created six shows for a private venue in Litchfield County with performers whose ages ranged from five to eighty-five, to spotlight the works of famous composers from the great American Songbook. She has performed with such notables as New York Pops founder, Skitch Henderson, conductor and pianist Rob Fisher, pianist John diMartino, and percussionist, Sherrie Maricle.

She debuted in cabaret in 2012 at the Metropolitan Room in Manhattan with “Try to Remember,” and followed that with “I Travel Alone.” The show chronicled a journey of self-discovery on foot, bicycle and horseback, wandering through Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Laos, Cambodia, India and South Africa. She released her debut CD, Singer at Work (available on CD Baby) in 2012, followed by If We Only Have Love (available on iTunes) in 2014.

“Her great love for the art of singing comes through beautifully. Lynn delivers the lyric with understanding, honesty and caring.”  – Marilyn Maye
