Sing in Paradise! The Tuscany Project Has Some Scholarships Available for the June 30-July 7, 2018 Summer Workshop

The Tuscany Project 2018, from June 30 to July 7, is an immersive experience vocal workshop that offers a path to creative enlightenment, encouraging participants to “sing your song” in a way that connects voice, body and soul. Moreover, it’s all done at the magnificent villa Locanda Del Gallo, a full-service establishment nestled in the Umbrian Hills of Italy. The week-long workshop comes complete with gourmet meals—the cuisine carefully prepared from locally sourced comestibles and beautifully presented.

The organizers of the project realize, however, that some who would benefit from the experience simply can’t afford it. That’s why “Paying it forward with Gratitude” scholarships are being made available. Here’s what they have to say bout it:

“After our 25th anniversary party last year, we have thought about ideas to keep the project alive and going. We feel connected to so many of you, your songs, our experience together in this most amazing spot in Italy and all the stories we share. We talked about the fact that we all know people who say “I would love to come, but I can’t afford it“.

For the love of music and art,
Anja, Belle, BZ, Ron, Phillip & Shaynee

Now in its 26th year, The Tuscany Project is open to singers of all levels, from beginners to professionals. Students come together from all walks of life to make music, be it banker or lawyer, massage therapist or an accountant. All who attend are singers for these seven days. Usually there are students who have never sung before participating with those who have sung their entire lives, learning, exploring and inspiring each other.

This year’s curriculum offers the opportunity to grow as a singer and performer through small group classes on body, voice, presence and Improvisation, taught by Anja Struchholz, a renowned teacher of theatre, movement and voice. Classes in interpretation, connecting with an audience, finding the power of the voice and making a song one’s own, will be under the tutelage of singer-actress Belle Linda Halpern, who has taught singing internationally for over 30 years, with her teaching partner and frequent collaborator, Ron Roy. Roy is a pianist and musical director on the faculty at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee, as well as a pianist and music director in cabaret, musical theatre and opera, including the Off-Broadway hit, Forbidden Broadway.
